I’m awake early and bored, so I decided to do a littttleee bloggginnn (as if anyone cares). Hmm. I saw A Great Big Pile of Leaves, Saves the Day and Say Anything the other night in Philly. Motion City headlined, but there was no need to stick around for that nonsense. AGBPOL were really good, they kindof’ have this Minus The Bear vibe, but it’s a little more rock, kinda. Brett and I talked to him after they played; really nice guy. They’re from Brooklyn and they’re completely independent. Horray for new music! ANYWAY, Saves the Day was awesome and OF course I adored Say Anything. Chris and Max also did a Two Tongues song, which I loved as well. Surprisingly, Say Anything mostly played ollldd stuff, which I like just as much as the new stuff, if not better. Started off with Crush’d which made me a happy girl. They also played Colorblind, Belt, Do Better, Less Cute, Wow I Can Get Sexual Too, Baby Girl I’m a Blur, Alive With the Glory of Love, Woe, Yellow Cat (Slash) Red Cat, Little Girls, ummmmmmm I can’t think of the other stuff they played. All in all, I was a happy girl that night.

what are the odds

did ya ever see someone you know driving on 95? i never have. but last night i was driving to the city and a car was beeping like crazy at me. i look over and it’s my godparents, cruising next to me on 95. what are the odds of that?! slim huh.

train story

okay so a lot of my posts are going to be about my day on the train. this is because i’m an observer, and what better time to observe people, right? okay so, there’s a mother (a young mother, maybe in her early to mid 20’s) and her little toddler girl of maybe 2 or 3 years old. they’re sitting next to each other.

this mom was on her iphone the entire train ride. paid no attention to this little girl at all. not once did she ask her daughter a question, tell her daughter a story, teach her daughter anything at all, didn’t even look at her daughter. too busy texting and facebooking on the iphone. this made me so angry and sad. seriously is this how children are now going to be brought up? with parents being too busy on their iphones to even talk to their little girl on a train? DUDE if this was my kid, i’d be reading her a book while we were on the train. i’d be talking to her about trains, or the rain or teaching her the ABfreakingC’s.

it made me so sad that this little girl is going to be raised pretty much neglected because of the way technology is everywhere. we replace conversations with our own kids now because our iphones are more important? ugh. i wanted to switch seats with the mother and ask the little girl to tell me a story.

There is a girl in this class of mine and her name is Precious. I’m struggling with this, I really am.

just a few thoughts i had today

1. there really is not enough time in a day

2. customers at work lie to me as if they think i’ll believe them. i don’t.

3. if you’re going to lie, at least get something factual about it. “the coupons you give me don’t always work for what i want so no, i don’t want the all-access-pass.” LISTEN the coupons we give you are anywhere from 15-40% off of your entire purchase on ANYTHING in the store. there is noway this coupon isn’t “going to work for what you want”. sign up for the access-pass for me, please. it really is a good thing to have, trust me.

4. there are times I wish I could take someone’s picture and post it here to make fun of them, but I’d be too afraid someone would see it.

5. why do people drive so fast on streets that they know has either a) a red light up ahead, b)a stop sign, or 3)other cars/traffic??? I just don’t get it. you obviously can’t get very far. sure, maybe you’re in a rush or just an impatient person but really let’s look at the facts man, you ain’t getting too far.

6. tyra banks is actually very creepy looking, i have no idea why people think she’s pretty. she’s also very annoying and FYI if you go to to see her show live, it is not fun; she’s awful.

7. i have trouble watching shows like New Adventures of Old Christine and Rules of Engagement. this is because i can’t help but think of Elaine from Seinfeld, not, Christine.. and I think of Megyn Price as Claudia from Grounded for Life. Basically any recycled actor gives me trouble. I need fresh ones.

my book

i’m going to write a book on my experiences with working in retail. it’s the worst ever, for so many reasons. someone needs to write a book of customer etiquette. ugh. i have so much to say. don’t hand me money in a crumbled up ball, don’t ask me to hold your baby while you try clothes on, and don’t tell me there’s no price on these jeans when the tag is clearly in front of your face screaming $19.95 at you.

i need time to write this book.
